Do I need a boat licence for party boat hire?
No. Self-drive sessions do not require a boat licence. Everyone completes a safety briefing before departure and the controls are designed to be simple to use.
How many guests can come on a party boat hire?
Up to 10 guests per Aqua Donut. For bigger groups, book multiple boats — three Aquadonuts can take up to 30 guests, and the full fleet can accommodate up to 66 guests, subject to availability.
Where does the party boat depart from?
Departures are from Melbourne City Marina at 84 New Quay Promenade, Docklands. Aquadonut operates within Victoria Harbour and Docklands.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes, BYO food and drinks are welcome within responsible service conditions. You can also add the optional BBQ pack — gas, cooking equipment and utensils — during booking.
Can we book a night party cruise with karaoke?
Yes. Night driving sessions run 7pm to 10pm and are the only self-drive night boating experience in Melbourne, with karaoke included.
How long is a party boat hire session?
Day sessions run for two hours, with three-hour night sessions available.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If conditions prevent safe boating, you can reschedule within the following 12 months without an administration fee. Weather-related refunds are not normally provided unless agreed in writing before booking.
How far ahead should we book our party boat?
Weekends, especially between 2pm and 6pm, are popular and can book up to six months in advance. Book early for peak dates and special events.
